Damian is a highly regarded occupational health and safety lawyer who has gained a reputation as one of Queensland’s most sought-after practitioners in this space.

He focuses on the defence of actions brought against companies and individuals by various regulators.  As well as his expertise across OH&S, Damian also has experience across public liability and workers’ compensation litigation.

Damian holds a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws (2010) from Queensland University of Technology.  He was honoured on the 2021 ‘Best Lawyers’ list in the area of Occupational Health & Safety.

Damian’s expertise spans safety and regulatory matters, prosecutions, advocacy and insurance.  His skills are second to none across crisis management following incidents, defending regulatory prosecutions, providing front-end advice regarding regulatory compliance, undertaking due diligence exercises on safety management systems and coordinating proactive continuous improvement programs.  He is experienced across a number of sectors including Construction, Petroleum & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing, Environmental, Retail, Transport and Electrical.

Damian also provides advice and assistance to clients embarking on the Enforceable Undertaking process and is called upon to undertake independent accident investigations. Damian is therefore acutely aware of the interaction between employers’ health and safety policies and their insurance risk exposure.

Damian has been involved in several high-profile inquests and prosecutions both in Queensland and nationally.
